The Remnant asks Trump Administration to investigate the Vatican

America's oldest Traditional Catholic newspaper, The Remnant, has penned an open letter asking the Trump Administration to investigate the Vatican's alliance with the Democratic Party et. al. The letter, which will appear in the next print edition, can be viewed online here

I do support such an investigation by the U.S. Government at this time, especially when the abdication of Benedict XVI was fishy, and a priest in Colombia was suspended by his bishop  recently for preaching the truth on Catholic Holy Matrimony.

If a criminal investigation confirms that Jorge Bergoglio is not the legitimate Successor of Peter (a.k.a. an antipope), he should be captured by the Special Forces and brought to justice just like Bin Laden. I am pretty sure a Traditional Catholic President would do so without hesitation.

Rockford, Illinois Bishop bans all Latin in liturgies

While there was peaceful transfer of power in Washington, D.C. this afternoon, I am disturbed to learn that another U.S. bishop has banned the use of the Latin language in both the Traditional and Novus Ordo forms of Mass. A letter uncovered by several Catholic blogs from Bishop Daniel Malloy of Rockford, Illinois to diocesan priests dated January 11, 2017 not only requires his explicit permission to say the TLM in private, but has banned the renovation/restoration of churches to include centrally-located tabernacles and communion rails.

The late Bishop Thomas Doran must be rolling in his grave. The former diocese where TAN Books was located before being purchased by Saint Benedict Press of Charlotte, North Carolina, was a friend of Tradition. One note is that Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Malloy in 2012. 😠

Statement regarding Cardinal Sean being named member of CDF

Over the weekend Sean Cardinal O'Malley, OFM Cap., the Archbishop of Boston, has been named a member of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith. I strongly oppose this appointment.

Catholicism in Boston is dead, and no sitting prelate has defended the Catholic Faith since 1944 or said Mass Pontifically since 1970. There is no orthodoxy in 99.9% of the parishes, 100% of the schools, colleges, fraternal groups, and with Catholic Charities. Our consecrated Catholic cemeteries are full of urns of cremains that had no business being cremated or with bodies that have no business being interned in consecrated ground.

There's no big secret, but Sean is a shill for the Democratic Party and wearing his Capuchin habit is all for show. He's no Padre Pio, who actually said Holy Mass up to his heavenly reward.

While this appointment is only a membership and does not affect his assignment, his successor should have the initials SSPX at the end of his name.

OPINION: No SSPX deals with Unholy See

The Spanish version of the blog Rorate Caeli has published an exclusive interview with Bishop Athanasius Schneider, where he thinks that the SSPX should sign the deal for official canonical status:
“I have asked Msgr. Fellay not to delay his acceptance any longer, and I trust in Providence, though it is not possible to have 100% certainty. ¶ It is my great wish that the SSPX might be recognized and established within the regular structure of the Church as soon as possible, and this will be for the benefit of all, for them and for us. Actually it will be a new force in this great battle for the purity of the Faith”
On this issue, I disagree. While official canonical status would be ideal, it can wait until a pope who actually says the Traditional Latin Mass publicly in St. Peter's Basilica exclusively and bans the Missal of Paul VI.

What can happen now is as follows: diocesan bishops (especially the Tradition-friendly ones) can and should grant the SSPX official status in their dioceses, and in some cases transfer the real estate of what would be a soon-to-close parish church to them. Diocesan status is how Archbishop Lefebvre founded the Society, and once approved in three dioceses, the SSPX was considered a work of the universal Church.

In 2016 I posted a suggestion that Bishop Fellay be appointed the next Archbishop of Boston  to turn things around drastically up here in Ground Zero for Catholicism. While I don't think it will happen anytime soon, such an appointment would be housecleaning of the liberals and all those at the "Pastoral Center" at 66 Brooks Drive in Braintree making (not earning) extremely gross six-figure salaries.

Bishop Schneider would actually be a good pick too, since he is a few years younger than Bishop Fellay; both would definitely grant the SSPX official status in the Archdiocese of Boston, etc.
