Cardinal Wuerl denies Justice Scalia Requiem Mass, Juventutem Boston to fill void

With deep regrets I have the solemn duty of reporting that today's funeral for Justice Antonin Scalia was according to the Novus Ordo per order of Donald Cardinal Wuerl, the Archbishop of Washington, D.C.

Despite having a son who says the Tridentine Mass and having attended the True Mass himself, Justice Scalia was slighted the Requiem Mass for his official state funeral.

Fortunately, Juventutem Boston will be hosting a Requiem Mass for the Justice next Saturday, Feb. 27th at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes in Newton at 7PM. Fr. Kwang Lee is scheduled to be the celebrant.

Francis plays politics, essentially endorses Democratic nominee for President

Pope Francis called any idea of building a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border "not Christian" today aboard the flight home from his visit to Mexico. This comment was mainly directed at Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Such comments state that he is asking American Catholics to vote for the Democrat on November 8th.

Let's define a new term for people who or support those who just walk over the border, steal jobs from American-born persons, don't bother learning English, don't care for assimilation, don't care for the Constitution, civility, the Flag, and in certain respects the natural law. Let's call them bergoglios (with a lowercase b).

Most bergoglios on the ecclesiastical side of things will not assimilate to the Council of Trent and the unaltered sacraments. Why do you think that mostly every American Catholic diocese has specialized ministries such as "Hispanic Ministry", "Polish Ministry", "African Ministry", and so forth. The last I checked the Archdiocese of Boston has Novus Ordo Masses in 21 different languages!

Historically, the Vatican never endorsed the practice of ethnic parishes. It was allowed under the 1917 Code of Canon Law as a purpose to assist displaced European immigrants to America from Communist persecution. (This is still retained in the 1983 Code.) Like a congressional district, your parish is supposed to be where you live. (Unless you're a D.C. insider, you don't have a "personal" congressman!) All parishes are supposed to be territorial!

The common denominator with the Old World immigrants and native born Americans is they assimilated. They learned English if they needed to. They adopted the U.S. Constitution as their own. They became citizens the right way via the process at the time. They kissed Europe goodbye. And if they were Catholic (which most were), they attended the same Traditional Latin Mass as their American born counterparts and new neighbors.

As years passed, most historically Italian, French-Canadian, Lithuanian, German, and Scandinavian Catholic parishes in the United States heard their priests deliver their Sunday sermons in English. Once Vatican II closed, many of these ethnic parishes adopted English Masses. At home they taught their kids to speak English only. There was no "Press 1 for Gaelic, 2 for French, 3 for Italian, 4 for German" and so forth in the first 175 years of the United States of America.

The American bishops at the time, however, thought that ethnic parishes were the best way to help these new immigrants become Americans. In many older cities there were often two parish churches right next to each other: one would be the territorial parish for English speakers, the other would be the ethnic parish for the largest immigrant group in the neighborhood. The condition of registering at an ethnic parish was that you had to have a surname from the ethnic group. (Ecclesiastical Jim Crow, right?)

For those who attend the TLM, it is most likely in your non-residential parish (which is a whole different issue altogether), and most likely has Catholics from different races and ethnicities. They all have assimilated to Catholic Tradition.

The elimination of the requirement of the Latin language in the Church's sacred rites (along with the reforms) have destroyed the unity of 99% of the world's Catholics (the other 1% are the legitimate Eastern rites). Being politically correct and not assimilating new Americans of Hispanic decent in many forms (including bilingual ballots and official government paperwork) will destroy what was once the greatest nation on earth.

Springfield Mass. Bishop apologizes for the being Catholic

Francis appointee Bishop Mitchell Rozanski of Springfield, Massachusetts has apologized for being Catholic. In His Excellency's most recent pastoral letter, the Bishop wrote:
As the Diocese of Springfield, we must acknowledge this need for mercy, and ask forgiveness of God and each other for past sins and offenses. There are many people hurting in our Catholic community from the pain caused by our past failings as a diocese, as well as the grievous actions of some who ministered in our Church. The reality of that pain is that it still echoes many years later, as was given witness in our recent diocesan survey. So, before I ask anything of you, let me as your bishop be the first to apologize and ask your forgiveness.
First and foremost, I apologize to the victims of clergy sexual abuse, their families and friends, and all those scandalized by the Church’s failure to protect our young people and for any lack of diligence in responding.

Understood. At the end of the letter, the Bishop quotes some of the responses of the diocesan survey, including:

“The gay community feels that they aren’t welcome. They don’t want to espouse another religion; therefore, they don’t attend church at all. Hopefully, a special outreach could be done to them.”
“In many families due to the economy both parents are working and often working more than one job. This leaves little time and energy for parish activities; many athletic activities which are not parish-sponsored are now scheduled for Sunday mornings. These are some of the problems families are facing today.”
“At least half the Church is women. When is the Church going to accept us as equals and value our opinion? They don’t even ask our opinion nor do they seem to want it.”
“Childcare during Mass and parish activities.”
“We need to do more social outreach and have more ecumenical opportunities to focus on our similarities and not our differences. Get people of different faiths acting together for the same goals.”
“Try connecting more than correcting.”
The Bishop then exhorts these suggestions as force in his diocese.

For those who are not familiar, the Springfield Diocese is the least Catholic in nominal numbers, and has a history of homosexual bishops. Churches that have closed were immediately torn down. Amazingly, there is a weekly Traditional Latin Mass at St. John the Evangelist in Agawam, but with one problem: it is said as a "vigil" Mass on Saturdays at 6PM. This is illegal!

The closest canonically correct Sunday TLM is in Enfield, CT at St. Martha's Parish at 12PM. (I have never been to this Mass so I don't know if it's said in good faith.)

R.I.P. Justice Scalia (1936-2016)

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away while on vacation in Texas Saturday morning at the age of 79.

Justice Scalia was the only Traditionalist Catholic on the Court in recent years, and was a regular Latin Mass attendee. One of his sons, Fr. Paul Scalia, says the TLM.

Justice Scalia was respected by many, even those who didn't agree with him on Constitutional matters. He pretty much was a guaranteed vote against abortion, gay marriage, tyranny, excessive taxation, gun control, and other topics his opponents hate.

His sudden death now fills a void on the Supreme Court that is irreplaceable. It will be very hard to even find a conservative judge these days who upholds the Constitution and interprets the law as it says.

The Presidential election now has all three branches of government in play.

False Valentines

On this coming Feast of St. Valentine (which is superseded by the First Sunday of Lent this year), World Marriage Day is celebrated. It would praiseworthily make sense to honor true marriages on the feast day of a Roman priest and martyr for defending the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. But unfortunately, nobody in the secular world (and many in the clergy) have no clue what marriage is all about.

College campuses nowadays promote sexual perversion every day of the year, and during the month of February invoke Valentine with their perversions. Yale Sex Week is the most vulgar.

The bottom line is, if these kids are not married, they have no business taking part in intercourse. It's that simple. But condoms are available for free on most Novus Ordo "Catholic" college campuses. As long as contraceptives are made available, college students will have sex with one another.

On the other hand, married couples who refuse to perform intercourse without a serious reason commit a mortal sin. They are the only ones who have the right to procreate.

Obviously love of each other is very important in order to discern marriage, but the procreation of children on God's terms is the first aim of marriage. Love and mutual assistance are only centimeters behind.

Santorum suspends 2016 campaign

After a disappointing bottom finish in the Iowa Caucus on Monday night, Rick Santorum has decided to suspend his Presidential campaign for 2016.

It is very disappointing that the best candidate on both sides of the aisle with the best plan to restore America to her former glory was not taken that seriously by many people as he was in 2012. With too many candidates with similar views and the emergence of Donald Trump, it was very difficult for the only GOP candidate that backs American labor to catch on.

Since his name will most likely still appear on the Massachusetts ballot on March 1st (because of paperwork), I will still vote for him, even if he is not actively campaigning. If he is not, I will still write him in. (I suggest you do too!)

Another probable reason for this decision is due to the fact of Pope Francis. Being a Catholic who criticizes the Pope for his heretical statements may have thought (among persons of all faiths) that Santorum is a schismatic for doing so. (He is not.)

If Trump wins the GOP nomination, I hope he picks Rick Santorum as his running mate. Both want to build a wall along the Mexican border and have similar views on immigration.

However, because of Trump's demeanor poses him at-risk for impeachment, Santorum would and can be commander-in-chief today. According to the 22nd Amendment, if Trump were to win the White House and were removed from office before January 20, 2019, heir Santorum can run for two four-year terms.

If Santorum wishes to run again, it might be best for him to run a third-party campaign to guarantee his name on the November ballot.
