Where art thou...?

The upcoming week will feature three feasts that are very important in the Church calendar.

First of all, Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday in October. (Yes, this is the day, not the "Last Sunday in ordinary time" as the newchurch calls it and commemorates it.)

Tues. Nov. 1 is All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation. If you live in an area where you safely can't get to [Latin] Mass that day, then you're excused. Otherwise, it's a sin if you don't.

Wed. Nov 2 is All Souls Day. Most real parishes will offer a Requiem Mass for all the souls who passed away within the past year. And yes, this is a real Requiem, with the catafalque, 6 candles besides it, all candles made of beeswax, and black vestements. My ex-parish did not offer any Mass for the repose of any soul on this day; nor did they make Nov. 2 a big deal, but it is supposed to get the poor souls out of purgatory!

Now the most important thing to ask is "Where art thou [insert girl's name here]?"

Time is ticking away, and I still have not met my future Catholic wife. Could she be in church this Sunday?
